ok, so my motor runs perfectly fine but i noticing a oil leak in corner of head so what i want to do is get it resurfaced, and my question is i have to loosen the rocker arms to make the valves loose so they dont hang out so the shaver blades dont hit it correct, but if i do when i want to put it back on do i have to readjust the valves and anything els or ?

disassemble the whole head and do the job right. and why would you want to get it resurfaced? change the headgasket and call it a day!

well i know its not the head gasket, because bottom end was rebuilt and all new gaskets, and only has 3,000 miles on it so far so i know it cant be the gasket

the head gasket keeps fluids in the engine when they go from the block to the head. if it is leaking at the junction of the block and head, then your head gasket is bad, 3k miles or not.

coudn't it also be the head is worped a little?

yup, the head could be warped or even the wrong finish can make it not seal right.

what engine is it?? when i had my b16 head resurfaced i removed all but the valves and springs

yea if the job wasnt preped well enough before the new gasket it wont seal properly and you will ahve a leak. and NEVER EVER do a head gasket job or reassemble a motor without haveing resurfaced the head. it will cost you in the long run. its only about 35 bucsk for the machine shop to do it and if its not completly flat it WILL leak.

unless the head is out of spec, then no work needs to be done. if the head didn't warp, there is no need to do anything except make sure you have cleaned/scraped all the old gasket material off. done head gaskets on several cars, had the head checked and cleaned, but the heads have always been within spec so no decking was required, and I've never had any problems. maybe that's just me, but i've never known it to be necessary to deck a head if it is already flat, within spec.

Check your dizzy o-ring, valve seal, and the v-tec soliniod before you go tearing the thing all apart. It could be that easy. You will have to remove your cams for sure, that will make your valves seat all the way around. In doing that you will have to re-set the valve tension, run it for a day or so, then re-adjust the tension again. Aside from that, removing all the sensors that are in the way of decking(if you need it) is all getting it decked involves. I would definitely check those gaskets before I did anything. Also try searching this kind of stuff. This has been covered many times before.

well, iv tried searching, and i did check evertyhing its a sohc and its on the corner of the cam gear. i was just wondering if i could loosen the rocker arms and get it decked and re torque them and not have to do valve adjustment
