Please HELP!! AC problems!!!! i'm a newbie
before my AC was acting up. it stopped getting cold and when i idle my engine will rev by itself automatically.
i got tips from people here to get a DIY refrigerant re-charge kits with a gauge.
I tried running it but when i put on the gauge, it turns out that it was in the "Red - Danger" Zone. how do i release some of the pressure?
my engine was running and my AC was on max when i was testing it (like what the instructional movie said)
please help!!! it's hot out.

Take that **** to a shop. If you're not qualified to work on your refrigerant, take it somewhere if you don't know what you're doing. If you release that ****, that's way illegal, and not to mention harmful to you and the environment.

Releasing that r12 or r134a depending on the year of your vehicle into the air is considered bad by the EPA. And they will give a $5000.00 fine if caught. Now, with that said, I will not tell you how, but just let you know that when a line has pressure there's always way to relieve it. See those color caps on your Hi(H) and Low(L) sides of your a/c. They come off to reveil, a bleeder, kinda like a tire valve stem. Nuff said. Good luck bro.</TD></TR></TABLE>

r12 is deadly and in most states its hard to find. the problem that u r having is that your tryin to recharge your ac with the ac on. u dont even need to have the engine running. if you can afford to go to a shop i would do so.and have them evac and recharge your system. might take an hour depending on the machine

I'm thinking since your AC system is full or overfilled that the shop would only charge for evacing the 134a maybe run a leak test and refill it to the proper level. So I dont htink they would charge for the freon, I know that when I managed a jiffy lube we would not have but it all depends how honest your shop is. I',m thinking a $100.
