pass smog/BAR without CARB sticker for header?
I got a CARB approved DC Sport header several years ago. I forgot to put the CARB sticker on the hood and have since lost it. I have been able to pass smog without it before but they failed me on the visual inspection this time. If I go to a BAR referee center can they certify me without this sticker? Should I forget about going to the referee and just try my luck at another shop?
I have to do smog at a test only station if that makes a difference.
Thanks for any help!

go to another shop, preferably a ghetto one..lols if you go to ref you might pass, but not likely they are twice as strict as any other smog shop..if your gonna go there swap out your header with the stock exhaust manifold. good luck

Im not big with the smog, but if you have to have the sticker you could try contacting dc sports and see if they'll over night you a sticker or something. Or find the papers that prove its carb approved (although it already passed). just so they can see it really was.

Usually the part number is on the header along with the CARB code. Does the header say DC or have a part number? If it has a part number they should be able to look it up in there books.

my stock exhaust is cracked, that's why I replaced it. I'm going to call DC Sports tomorrow to see if I can get a new sticker, although I can't find the invoice for the header. I still have the box and the credit card charge.
I'll still have to go to another shop, this guy insisted that the sticker had to be on the header and couldn't be on the hood

the header says DC Sports and I have the paper that came with it that list a D-370-12 CARB sticker in the parts list. There is no number anywhere on the header.

An update incase any one else runs into the same situation -
I called DC Sports this morning and they are no longer sending out replacement CARB stickers. They said I just need to give the smog people the EO exemption number and that they could look it up and everything would be fine. So I guess I'm going to keep going to SMOG centers until I find one that will do this.

If you show the smog tech the reciept with a part # and a s/n# that he can match up to the header. We need to have some documentation if the number is not on the header.
Just swearing that it is a DC header is not enough. There should be either a tag welded to a runner or on the collector there should be some info like a s/n#.

The only thing that I can see is the welded panel that says DC Sports. I can not see where there it a part number anywhere on the thing.

So you do have the welded tag that does say DC sports. Go back to that efffin tech and ask him to do it again for free. It is his job to do the smog right. Tell him that you have the reciept for it and it say's DC sports on the header and to look it up in the "aftermarket database". This is part of his job!
He is just being a lazy scumbag it will only take him 5 minutes. If you give him the EO# to look it up by and it should take him about 30 seconds.
And if he still won't look it up then tell him that you are going to report him to the BAR for not doing his job and you want your money back. Get back to me and I will get you all the info you need to do this.
