Default Painting lug nuts

I think it would be neat to paint my lug nuts the same color of my car to make it a little more unique but I am worried that if I paint them and put them back on I will strip the paint right off. Has anyone painted their lug nuts?

i've seen many paint their lug nuts, but they always end up chipping or rubbing off, from being taken off.

you would have to powdercoat them. but it really is a waste. as soon as you put them on, the paint will chip off.

The secret for not damaging the paint is to make sure your socket and lug nut is clean and free from dust/sand when tightening or loosening.

still probly won't work because your socket and lugs probly aren't a 100% perfect fit. Your best bet would be to get lugs that use an allen or something along those lines so when you put them on you aren't damaging the paint where it is clearly visible

I didn't think the aftermarket ones were usually painted, I thought they were anodized.

I'd think even powdercoated ones would chip eventually. There's just too much stress on an 85 ftlbs nut for 1/32" of paint to handle.
