Default p2p ecu on jdm d15b 3-stage to pass emissions testing, CEL

Ok so I normally run my d15b with a p2j ecu which is grand, no cel, ok. But since I live in an unlucky county in ohio, I have to pass e-check, and the problem is that their scanners cannot read JDM ecu's. So, easy fix, slap on a p2p ecu (off the y8) and get it done.....or so I thought. I plugged the p2p in and got CEL for vtec. As a moderate noob I couldn't put my finger on what was causing it because almost everything is the same between the two engines. If anything the d15b has more doo-hickies than the y8, apart from the single wire o2 sensor. That o2 sensor is what I'm worried about, the p2j wants to see a single wire, which is installed, but the p2p wants to se a...4 wire? 5 wire? *brain fart*. But I have the mutiple wire o2 sensor, my question is, is it worth giving it a try to eliminate the vtec code?

TIA!!!

Are you asking permission? Just do it if you feel it will help. The longer you wait for people to chime in on giving you the go.. the longer you gotta ponder if it will work. 10minutes to change it out, get er done.

you need to install an upstream and a downstream o2 sensor for emissions, thats before and after the cat. i used a ex computer and it uses two 4 wire o2 sensors. you will also need to tap a wire from the vtps pin on the ecu to the green wire coming off the two stage vtec solenoid. the vtps on the ecu is c15 for obd2a and c10 for obd2b.
u need to put some miles on it once you swap the stuff, or the systems will not come online. fyi i drove mine around for 3 days b4 my scan tool saw that it was ready.
good luck
