Default original key?

i just got a 99 civic, but the seller only had 2 spare keys. does anyone know if you can go to honda with your spare key and have them make you an oem honda key? not a huge deal...just kind of bugs me not having the honda key.

You go into a honda dealership with your VIN, ID, and title. They cut you a new key with a computer based on your VIN.

The computer cut keys from Honda was bad for me because they do not service those things too often. I got better results getting the code for the car and having a locksmith cut a key on a manual machine. The locksmith key actually looks closer to the original than the ones from the dealer. It was cheaper too.

Really? I got one for my GTI done for 260 bucks....and it wasn't a remote button either....just a regular 'ol key (they have chips in 'em to match the car, but no remote entry on the standard keys, only on the remote keys...(obviously))

YaY for cheap honda prices...
