oil pan leak?
Hello again. I have a 97 civic ex auto.. its leaking oil between the timing belt cover and the oil pan.. is there any easy way to change the oil pan gasket without messing with the timing?

Replacing the oil pan gasket does not affect the timing.
All you need to do is remove the lower part of the exhaust manifold, then remove all the 10mm bolts that hold down the oil pan. It is very easy to do.
Are you sure its the oil pan? It could also be the front main seal which is behind the crank.

How would I go about fixing that? I'm not quite sure where its coming from. All I know is it does not leak just idling, but when I put the car in drive on the lift, it starts leaking down the driver side between the oil pan and the timing belt cover.

Only place I see oil coming out is from the one side of the oil pan, but I couldn't see the exact spot. I'll have to put it back up on the lift and take that cover off.. Would the front main seal be leaking down just one side?
