Oil Pan Gasket, to use sealant or not?
I searched and came up with mixed results. This group says use sealant on the corners, this other group says none at all, I want somebody who has done this before and done it right to tell me. Do i need to put any kind of sealant when replacing this gasket? and if so, what kind works best?

dont use the sealant, everytime I have the oil pan has leaked... just make sure both surfaces are clean and torque to specs

When I put my Moroso pan on I put a small bead of sealant down the middle of the entire gasket and after 3K+ miles it has not leaked a drop. It may not be needed but why wouldn't you do it just for a little extra protection.
