Re: I have a auto 97 civic want to change to manual
At a minimum:
D series hydraulic transmission w/steel mount bracket on top, and steel arm bracket on front
Bolts for the trans to engine
Shifter and shift rods
Passenger side trans mount
Clutch pedal and brake/accelerator pedals from a 96-2000 civic (w or w/out cruise control - they're slightly different
Piece of sheet metal to fab up a new plate for the manual shifter
Clutch Master and Slave cylinders, and OE clutch hydraulic lines
Flywheel
Clutch/throwout Brg kit
Bolts for a flywheel - can't use the flexplate bolts
Bolts for the clutch cover
Optional but very nice to have:
Proper PCM to eliminate an auto trans related CEL after swap
Manual intake manifold w/ proper IAC for VTEC PCM
Connectors for the switches on the clutch pedal - two if you have cruise control
Wire up reverse lights, a starter interlock, and clutch interlock (cruise control again)
EX trans has steeper ratios and final drive(peppy), LX/DX trans is middle of the road, and VX/CX trans are more sluggish
Manual instrument cluster or manual gauge faces to cover the PRND21 in your instrument cluster
Easiest to get these parts at one time from a wrecked donor, but if you don't mind piecing together the fiddly bits - or risk missing a crucial connector or pin at 2am - it can be done one part at a time.
