Nothing really. The D15B7 is a shitty platform to begin with, I know, I have one. Even with bolt-ons such as header, exhaust and intake...it's not worth it.

IMO, do a Mini-Me. This is achieved by taking a D16Z6 cylinder head and mating it to the D15B7 block. So, with the right ECU, you'll have a VTEC motor with a few extra horsepower to boot.

Then, go the homemade turbo route.

You can do anything to that motor that you can do to any other motor i.e. I/H/E to gain extra HP. But as stated above it's probably not worth it depends on whta your goals are. What the stock Hp rating on a b7 anyway isn't that a cx motor 70hp or am I wrong. Maybe the cx is a b8 I forgot.

The cx is a b8 @ 72 hp. Dimi is right. b7 is 102 hp. I have a b7 in my cx with i/h/e and i noticed and considerable difference. Also if you feel up to it, find a d16a6 and swap cams.

yeah it's because your cx motor prolly made like 40-50whp at the wheels, when the b7 made 80whp. i/h/e won't give you any terribly noticable gains. Way more cost effective upgrade is Z6 head.

yep,
i'll vote for minime also(d16z6 head).

either that or just swap it out for a whole d16z6 or jdm d15b vtec(both very similar motors).

also you'll want a z6 transmission.

The z6 mini me is a great idea if you have the money. you can get an a6 cam for damn near free and it only takes 20 minutes to swap. I want to see how fast i can go before I go vtec.

dont spread false information,
even if you've done it before, you're not going to swap in a cam in 20 minutes.

if its your first time doing it, expect things to pop up, it could take a few hours or longer.

I've done it a bunch of times, and i'd say it'd probly take me up to an hour.

also an 16 cam wont give you anywhere near as much power as a minime swap would. It is a good mod, but expect maybe 10hp from it at the most,
if you have boltons.

a minime swap is a good 20hp,
and it would have more potential,
if he wanted to get more aggressive with it, he could do this..

higher profile cam(aftermarket, or a cheap upgrade would be a d15b head instead of z6, which includes a more aggressive cam already)
mill the head a bit while its off for higher compression,
hondata IM gasket
JG or skunk2 intake manifold,
fpr and some good tuning.
You could see around 130-140 at the wheels!

ooh.. geting me all excited about n/a sohc again!! haha

This is from a different topic where we were discussing Mr. Bones dyno sheet about swapping in an a6 cam in a b7 head with no bolt-ons. From Ricey McRicerton and some others. "50 bucks and 20 minutes of your time." was what I was told.

ah i c,
well mybad for comin at u so hard,

.. i do that sometimes

anyhoo.. yeh.. 20min is hogwash, even if you do this **** daily,
you'll still have to re-do your valve lash with a cam swap,
and that takes time, 16 valves, each one needs to have its gap set with a feeler gauge.
swapping the cam in/out alone could be done in 20 min though I guess. if you've done it a bunch in the past.

No prob. That's just what I was told. Of course the way my luck goes it would take me a day or two. lol.
