no clutch pressure. 94 eg d16z6
(reposting here. put in wrong forum. sry bout that)
hi ive been having some issues with my transmission and clutch for a while.
i finally swapped out my tranny and got one that works, and also bought a brand new slave cylinder and master cylinder.
before i replaced the slave and master, for about a year i couldnt get full clutch pressure no matter how much i bled the clutch.
i replaced the slave about 4 months ago, and i replaced the master yesterday.
i will say for reference that i did NOT bench bleed the master. it was late at night and i couldnt find a tube to use.
so i started pumping the peddle after i put it on, i watched tons of bubbles pop up thru the resivuor (sry cant spell). eventually the bubbles stopped. so i started bleeding thru the slave cylinder. it took me 30 mins of bleeding before i managed to get some air out of the line to get about half my clutch pressure.
now no matter what i do, if i take the bleeder out and gravity bleed, if i bleed normal thru the slave cylinder, i cant get ny more air or clutch pressure.
when i open the bleeder valve, nothing comes out, but if i normally bleed it, fluid squirts out like normal.
help please. thank you. ive spent too much time and money to not get my civ running b.c of this. any help is appreciated
ps: as of yesterday i did attempt to bleed by putting a clear plastic tube from a bleeder kit that i bought yesterday on the tip of the slave cylinder and pumped the peddle for about a half hour or so, possibly more. is this proper? am i letting in air by slightly cracking the bleeder valve open and bleeding it thru? it appears to be working and shooting out a TON of air bubbles.
thank you

Re: no clutch pressure. 94 eg d16z6
you have to pump it 4-5 time, while you keep the peddle pressed open bleeder screw then close it and pump the peddle again, when you pumpin it your bleeder screw has to be closed

im sorry i didnt properly explain what i did with the slave
i had the other end into a bottle of brake fluid with the tip of the tube submerged. it appeared to be properly bleeding by pumping fluid and air out and not pulling the air back in b.c it was submerged. i was curious if the bleeder valve being slightly opened would cause any air to be sucked in. i didnt think it would b.c on the inside of the bleeder screw theres 2 little holes that fluid goes thru to exit out the front of the screw thru the hole.
also i havent adjusted the piston to the peddle. thank you i will do that. any other suggestions? all is appreciated.
