2000 civic ex ecu not responding to scan tool
Replaced head gasket after throwing multiple codes and stalling. Now the diagnostic is saying "vehicle not responding". Used scanner before no problem. Wondering if maybe I missed a connection under the hood or fried the ecu with all the codes??? CEL came on(seems like IACV) so I think the ECU is fine. Any help diagnosing OBD port would be great. I've searched but can't find pinout for P2P 92A ECU. Everything has only 3 connections not all four like my ECU.

Checked it, it's not blown. On my fuse box that's for interior lights. My ECU looks like it's on#47 of that diagram.
I started to check pinouts but hit a dead end when I couldn't find the K-Line on my ECU.All the diagrams of ECU's I find have only 3 connections, where I have 4. I'm over my head but trying to learn to tread water.

Fuse 43 also protects the data link connector (DLC) circuit. Does the dome light work?
Fuse 47 protects the ECU Back Up (memory) circuit.
Does the engine start and run?

Is your scan tool possibly the problem?
If not, check whether terminal 8 of the DLC connector gets battery voltage and that the two black ground wires at terminals 12 and 13 have continuity to body ground.
Test the Blu/Yel wire for continuity between the DLC connector (terminal 15) and ECU A21.

Yeah, continuity is there on all. wondering... OBD2 connectors universal for scanners? This one works on my wife's Ford. When I look at pins on scanner's connections the only ones that make connections are 2,4,5,6,7,10,14,15,16.No connection on 1,3,8,9,11,12,13

I borrowed scanner. Each time I configure it for OBD2 Honda and no reading. For my wife's car I configure it for OBD2 Generic tried for mine but doesn't work.

Yea some cheaper scanners sometimes won't work between cars. For example. My act programmer for my BMW will only scan it and won't read codes off other vehicles even under universal Obd. My Honda scanner at work will only pull codes on h and a vehicles.

Took it to Autozone, pulled IACJ, they read the code no problem. Scanner I have doesn't work with my car. I think they have a separate cord for it but my brother doesn't have the one for Honda. Thanks to everyone and good luck Dlee. At least now I know a little more about OBD2 and ECU connections. Inspection here I come!

On your year any obd2 connector should work. Doyouhave any bent pins in the connector on your scanner by chance?

Not that I can see. I don't know if any of them are completely broken off though. But then why would it work on the Ford? I'm at a loss. I watched the guy from Autozone hook his scanner up and got the code.

When I worked at a infiniti dealership I can't remember a time the factory scanner did not work on a infiniti car. I only worked there a year though. When I worked at an independent shop and then opened my own shop it was very common for some cars to not work with some scanners.
