new beginnings (build thread)
hello H-T members wanted to do a build thread for this car and keep up with it.
first off names matt and ive been around hondas for 10 years now since i started driving at 16.
so the build is a black 97 civic hatchback bone stock. the most basic one you can get.
ive never owned one before and im really looking forward to this build.
So to start the two lovely cars i sold to do this build
94 civic hatchback si
91 civic hatchback dx
after selling both of them i started hunting for the perfect hatchback. and this is what i found for 1,000$ no rust 2 owners and 100% stock
the only car i kept after selling the other two cars my favorite 01 type R.
the plan is to build a nice track/backroads car. collecting parts to have it painted on december 28th i will be dropping her off at the body shop.
going with the EK9 CTR black.

Re: new beginnings (build thread)
nothing to crazy ctr head liner front&rear ctr sway bars and sun visers.
dropped the bars off at powercoating monday had some rust on them should be done this friday november 4th.
i like the vinyl over the cloth plus the dark gray just looks so much better.
the new headliner was a little dirty but just looks so much better then the original

That ek is a total steal! For 1k? That's crazy the dx still goes for 2500+ over here and dealers want 3300+.
Curious though why you said you got rid of the si and ed for the ek.... Those two cars only gave you 1k of value?
Looks like you're going the right way on this build good luck!

Re: new beginnings (build thread)
Yo i have the same hatch, so what ive done so far is i put in a S40 trans with stage 2 clutch and y8 intake mani which i suggest if u wanna stay y7 also keep stock components of air intake if you wanna convert it back. Also i really suggest getting a tachometer soon it helps when if you swap to tighter gears.

Re: new beginnings (build thread)
White eg1 I sold both to start a new project. I never owned this body style so I decided to start the build. And with selling both of those cars I have 9k for this build. So a pretty good starting point.
Amd Ypu Ishiya I have upgraded the cluster since I've bought it. And I plan on going with a gsr swap.

Re: new beginnings (build thread)
been busy with life and collecting parts but did this two weeks ago.
buddy club 15x8 wheel and tires toyo proxxies r1r 225-45-15
and the parts wall
getting ready for the tear down.
all the new parts for the front
front ctr sway bar F&F type 1 coils and everything else is skunk2
heres everything for the rear ctr rear sway bar ASR sub frame brace rest is skunk2 and rear disk brake convertion.
took it to work for an alignment and to install my ebrake cables, driverside side skirt
now i have to install my doors and new fenbers and will need to have them rolled a little. and have decided to do a vinyl wrap.
