Need help ASAP stumped on crank no start problem
Okay so to start off we've tried everything. The distributor we swapped out for a new one, no fire. We changed out the main relay, no fire. We changed out the ecu with the new distributor and still no fire. Plug wires are good and getting a good reading on the meter. Ignition is good. Fuel pump kicks on and runs like it should. There is one thing different since the start of this problem and that's when we have the key switched on there is a unusual buzzing and doesn't sound normal or good. But it seems to be coming from the throttle body somehow but that in no way should effect the fire and spark. We've checked ground and all the plugs and are all good. It's a 93 honda del sol with a D16Z6 vtec. And what happend was I was driving to work when I started to lose power and and rpms slowly dropped until it shut off and I had to pull it to the side of the road. It didn't just shut off it slowly and painfully, to me, die. Any suggestions on what else to check or do would be greatly appreciated because I feel like breaking down and giving up cause I love this little car it's my baby.

So what happens when you turn the key in the ignition? Never ending cranking but no fire? Or no power to the starter whatsoever? Is the vehicle a manual transmission? Did you pull ECU codes yet? Theres a bit of information missing here.

Sorry about that. Yes there is never ending cranking and no fire we've check for spark but there's nothing. And it's an auto trans. And it's not throwing any codes the check engine light is not lighting up.

No CEL doesn't necessarily mean no codes. Did you jump the service connector under the glove box and count CEL flashes? Also, new spark plugs gapped to specification may help?

If youre getting volts to the plug wires but no spark either
A) the ignitor in the dizzy is weak or KIA or
B) plugs are garbage

We've already tested them filling the manual and they are spot on on the readings and also we tried a brand new dizzy but there was still no spark. We haven't tried jumping the service connector but that's because we really don't know how

Re: Need help ASAP stumped on crank no start problem
By the passenger door reach up between the glove box door and the passenger "wall", theres two female plugs up there, one with 3 terminals and one with 2 terminals, your concern is with the one with 2. Take a short piece of wire, only has to be like 4 or 6 inches long and strip both ends, and push each bare wire end into each terminal of the 2 terminal plug. Then turn the key to ON without starting the engine, and cou t how many short and long flashes there are of the CEL.... a long flash is 10 and a short flash is 1. So one long flash and 4 short flashes is Code 14. Write down all codes the engine spits out and report back here.

Hey guys thanks yall we figured out the problem and it was seriously a face palm. Turns out when my dad put on the new dizzy he used the same cap and rotor button. Turns out one of those two were bad and she cranked right up after we got it put on. But still thanks guys for the support and the possible solutions
