Not going in Reverse, and sometimes 2nd and 4th. Help..
I just bought the car, and was told they swap the motor/trans/linkage from a 98 coupe(everything was working fine). And when they put it in the 94 coupe I bought, Reverse doesn't work. Can it be the linkage? Because 2nd gears goes in an angle(towards 4th), 4th gear also has an angle(towards R), and reverse just doens't go in. 1st, 3rd, and 5h go in perfect. Please help.
It's a 94 coupe with b16swap, tranny, and new clutch/flywheel/throw out bearing.

I checked the linkage, and its not rubbing against anything. It does have a b&m short shifter.

I was having a similiar problem with my 2000 LX that was an auto to manual swap. After taking a look underneath the car I found that one of the two bolts that holds the rubber piece that holds the shift linkage to the car was missing. I had never tightened the two bolts after installing the shift linkage. After replacing the missing bolt and tightening the remaining one my shift linkage actually felt crisper than before. So check the shift linkage underneath the car.
