so i hooked up my battery to my project, headlights work. hazards/signals work. if i turn the key to on the oil light is the only indicator that works. if i turn the headlights on the backlight/illumination on the dash dont turn on (cluster lights and the lights that brighten up the HVAC dont turn on, but the indicator for where the air is pointing works)

i tested all the fuses at the fusebox that is usually under the hood, relocated. fuel pump does have power, im guessing bc my ecu doesnt getting power. i have a p28 w/hondata. i know it works because i had it hooked up in my gsr at one point.

Any ideas? thanks in advance.

engine turns over/cranks but doesnt start bc ecu isnt getting power so its not getting spark or fuel.

Have you checked your main relay?

its in there. should i pull it out and use a multi-meter?

does the main relay need to be grounded? i dont have it bolted onto the side under the dash board. im guessing it doesnt need to be because the shell is plastic.

okay i had my friend bring his civic over, pulled his main relay and tested mine on his car. worked fine. tested his on mine. didnt work.

took my ecu to my buddy's. plugged it in. worked and his car started right up.

went online and found a main relay diagram. i dont know much about how to read these so my father helped. we took a wire and hooked it the the pin that has power, then jumped a wire to the ecu pin and another to the fuel pump pin(all on the main relay plug)


car started up after i changed the fuel pump out. now why do i have to jump this? what wires and where should i check. i had the idea of running a toggle switch somewhere hidden. flip it when i get in to start it. flip it again when i park it. but thats not exactly fixing the problem, more of dancing around it.
