That is how my 02 sensor 4 wire is wired to my obd1 p28 ecu, I've read A25 should be wired to D22. Is that true? Sounds like an easy answer (D22 is sensor ground) but I just want to be sure since this is how I bought the car and this might solve my cel light (code 1) that hasn't went away since I bought it in march this year. I just had my grounds at my t-stat housing touched up, electrician went a few inches into the harness where the wire wasn't old and he cut the old stuff off and replaced (soldered and shrink wrap) with good wire and re crimped and sodered using the same gold connector. I wanted to eliminate that before poking at the ECU but now that I am this is what I found.

Any help would be grateful, if you're going to be an a$$ and not help (you can be an a$$ if you help) dnt even bother please thanks.

That should help you out. Also please post some more information if that does not help you out. The year/make/model/engine/CELs, etc helps out. Your wording in the initial post is confusing and I am having trouble figuring out exactly what you are asking.

Hey Doc thanks! I knew I wasforgetting some info lol. Cars a 92 civic cx 2nd gen b16a not a2. I guess what I was aking is are my o2 sensor wires wired correctly? I have a four wire o2 tha is wired to A25 A26 A6 and D14 on my ECU. According to the pic provided by HondaP.H. its wired wrong. I'm missing D22 so I'm assuming I need to move A26 to D22. Please chime in.

Since D22 is sensor ground, where is it grounded at?

How many wires are coming out of your 02 sensor?

Sorry for any confusion but you can use my diagram but there are other ways as such. Let me preface by saying if there is already a wire in that location at the ECU tap into it don't remove and replace as it may be shared with other sensors, if there isn't a wire there you can add it:



1. D14 (O2 signal)
2. D22 (or any good ground)
3. A25 (switched 12V power)
4. A6 (heater control)

There are 4 wires coming out of it, while I was on lunch I moved the wire that is spliced into A26 to D22 and now the idle is way way smoother but it sits at a steady about 900 which I think is because I adjusted the base idle srew to see if that help with my low idle (which it did but not completely). I did get the CEL (code 1) aftr about 20 min of driving but I'm hoping its because haven't reset the ECU.

Thanks HondaPH. All of these pinouts have wires, I found that the o2 sensor wires are spliced into the original wires at the ECU pinouts. I'm going to reset the ECU before I leave work and then see if the CEL comes back. I also don't like the way it was spliced and taped so I might redo the wires to make sure I'm getting good contacts.

Well so far so good. I reset the ECU b4 leaving work and then let it idle till the fan came on twice then drove off and didn't get a CEL, I made it to my gym in stop N go traffic (bout 5 miles) and it didn't come on, then I drove home (bout 13 miles) and it still hasn't come back. When I got home I adjusted the idle adjust screw back to where it originally was and it now the idle sits at about 700 or so.

My drive to work tomorrow morning is a mix of traffic and high speeds an it always comes on on that drives if it doesn't come on at all id say I'm good to go thanks a lot for your guys' help, as soon as I saw the colored dots on D22 and nothing on A26 I thought BINGO!

I dont get it! My CEL didn't come on on the way to the gym and then to my house, driving conditions were the same as yesterday. I haven't had a chance to try the above but will be doing it on Saturday, till then I'm not going to reset the ECU and see if the lite comes back on on the way to work tomorrow.

okay update! i did some DRing of my wires and made sure all wires are making perfect contact with the wires that are coming out of the ECU. i reset the ECU and did the idle thing. i just finished a 20 min drive 70% freeway and did not get the CEL. as of now the problem is fixed. if it comes back i will update if it doesnt then i urge anyone who is having O2 CEL problems to check their wiring.

Okay its been back about 5 times since last post but on Christmas vacation I'm going go pull the whole "harness" out and see how the connector wires are spliced to the wires that are going to the ECU ill most likely soder them if they're not already. Ill update after I do that.

i know when i took a harness apart i tried to do it like this and fried the O2 section on the ecu. i believe 1 or two of the wires go to the dead end plug brown plug on the harness near the ecu. i know when i checked the other O2 sensor one or two of the wires ran to this plug as well. i hope that helps where the other 1 wire goes.
