My LS VTEC has a knocking sound when it starts up cold and pinging noise when i accelerate the motor between 2-3k. Anyone can help me? Thanks. But still runs great?!?!?

could be the tranny, inershaft bearing or something

It's hard to describe in writing but rapid soft ticking is often the valve clearances and louder, usually somewhat slower clicking is commonly pinging from the timing being too advanced. A tech experienced with Hondas or similar vehicles can often tell the difference listening under the hood while the engine's running. Is this the first winter your motor will be experiencing?

When my car turns on there's a slight knock then its fine after it heats up. And theres a metallic sound when i rev the engine at a certain rpm but when i rev it higher the sound is normal. Idk, is it cause im running a stock p28 ecu on a stock ls vtec. Right now my set up is the basic bolt on's, GSR rod's, and port and polish head, i was thinkin that im running lean on gas/air mixture.

Dont drive it until you get it tuned. The maps from a stock P28 are not correct for a LS/Vtec. Unless you got more money laying around to rebuild it, get it tuned.
