I've had the Samco ones and the g-force ebay hoses, they are identical.
I bought a set of universal ones off of amazon and they came as the samco brand.
No idea on ply. I have some spares sitting around I can post pictures comparing. I have put them on atleast 5 cars.
Also to find your leak you should go to an auto parts store and rent the cooling system pressure test kit and the import radiator neck adapter and pressurize the system to 15 psi to find your leak. With the system at operating pressure the leak will be immediately noticeable
Also your old thermostat could be stuck closed and over pressurizing the system. This could cause the cap to lose pressure, or overflow the resvoir
