Default Leaky Clutch Master Cylinder??

For the last cuople weeks I have had to top off my clutch fluid.....well I knew I had a potention problem on my hand so this saturday while vacuming my car I looked under the dash and I noticed a lil fluid from the clutch pedal...I pushed the clutch in and fluid squirted out!! I lifted the carpet and the pad that is againt the fire wall is soaked in fluid......

How easy is it to replace a clutch master cylinder myself?? is there another fix?? I'm thinking just the whole MCS assembly??

Any opinions??

What are the signs of a bad Master cylinder? I'm having problems with my car right now also. Like when I go to put it in gear it grinds really bad and when I move the clutch pedal in and out it grinds really bad. Someone told me it might be my slave cylinder but I'm exploring all my options.

Later,
Dan

PS. Sorry for posting something unrelated in your post

the clutch master cylinder isnt that hard to replace, i watched as the guy replaced mine. it costed me 75 bucks installed. dunno the brand of the part, but at least it was made in japan, so u kno its quality ****, haha.

basically u would need to unscrew the few pipes connected to the cylinder in the engine bay area, then unscrew the bolts holding it to the firewall, im not sure what he did in the clutch pedal area tho. after u put the new one on, U HAVE TO bleed your clutch system. hope that helped

Common failure problem on Civics (especially 92-95 ones).

Mine went bad at 100,000 miles.

Easy replacement. Took 45minutes doing it slow.

clutch masters are not that hard to change the only hard part is getting off the cotter pin from under the dash and also use a flare wrench for the fitting on the master as a basic wrech might round out the nut. once you bleed make sure you keep fluid constant and don't let the master bottom out or you can blow it out.
