Koni Yellows question! Need help.
Bought a brand new set of Koni Yellows today off some dude on Craigslist. He gave me the receipt as well in case I ever need access to Koni's lifetime warranty. I was under the impression that 92-00 civic shocks and struts were the same as 94-01 integra. Though according to pages such as Amazon and eBay the rear shocks (8041 1153 sport) do not fit 99-00 civic ex? The front shocks (8041 1152 sport) are said to be ok by Amazon. Anyone have any experience with this? The rear shocks are supposed to be fit 92-95 civics but will they fit my 99 ek? Please help

I once made EK shocks fit an EG. I had to cut the rear LCA's (just notch them) to make the shocks fit. The lower shock ears on the EK longer than those on the EG. Nothing a side grinder can't fix!

well im trying to put E.G. shocks on an Ek. I've read that you could use two washers on each side of the control arm to make the shock fit. Does anyone have any experience with this or know where I can find these washers?

Sorry; I had that backwards. I made E.G. Shocks fit an EK. I believe only the fronts are interchangeable without modification. The rears, like I said, won't fit.

I've been doing my research and EGs require to be shaved to fit EK shocks. Not the other way around. EK apparently you can either switch out the bushings and put in E.G. bushings or use washers to fill up the gap

i know washers aren't recommended but it seems to be the easiest fix to the problem. Many people recommend washers, why would you say no? I've also heard that integra and eg lcas should not be put on Eks because they're different.

You can use washers or spacers. Some companies, Tokico being one of them, only make one set of rear shocks for EG/DC/EK and include spacers so they can be used on an EK.
An no you can't swap LCAs as they're different lengths.

I've been searching for those tokico spacers but I can't seem to find them anywhere online. You think I'd have to call Tokico? Or will any stainless steel washers from a hardware store work?

How did u make them fit? Any specifically sized washers that you used? Or did you use spacers? So confused don't know what to get for them.

There's nothing magical about the washers. They just take up the free space on the bolt on the inside of the lower strut fork. If you don't put washers in, torquing the bolt causes the fork to deform inward.

It's an M10 x 80 bolt, so just get a few M10 washers (stainless if you're worried about rust) and stick 'em in there. And try to keep the amount of washers even on both sides. Don't bunch them all on one side so as to keep things even.

Back when I did it 5 years ago, I didn't use washers. I used a cutoff wheel to notch out the LCA and they fit fine.
