Installing a horn/siren to a seperate button
My JDM steering wheel is not compatible to work with a horn..
I plan on getting another horn/siren and hooking it up a seperate switch/button and placing it someplace near my steering wheel.
What exactly would I need to do this, and if anyone can give some instruction on how do install it that would be good to.
Thanks guys.

Would this work on my 00 Si with a EK9 CTR wheel?
I've never heard of it, care to explain a bit more, and give some info on where I can possibly find one?

I have the SRS wheel.. Can I still use it?
How exactly does it work, I can't tell from the pic.
But anyways, I kinda want a horn ASAP so if someone can help me with running it to a seperate switch/button that would be great.

Why can't you get yours to work then? It just plugs in on the SRS wheels.

Ok, two things:
1) Your horn wiring is not stock. The way the hack-job monkey who wired it has it grounding out on the hub/skeleton of the wheel. This is fine and dandy -- but you need a horn shoe (as posted above).
2) Your SRS cable reel seems to be missing the necessary wire for hooking up a horn. There should be a single red or gray wire with a black 1-pin female connector on it. That's your horn trigger wire.
The horn in our car is 'trigger on ground', meaning it's an open circuit without the ground being triggered in the relay. You ground out the horn button on a negative post/earthed metal, and it closes the switch in the relay, letting the horn go "HONK."
So essentially, you need to buy a shoe horn (or make one) and get a new SRS reel.

Re: (Eran)
Okay, well then I'm just going to go ahead and wire it up to a seperate button.
How do I do this? Will any button from radio shack work? I know most sirens/horns just use 1 black and 1 red wire. How do I hook this up to the button?

Re: Installing a horn/siren to a seperate button (Razr2)
I have a after market steering wheel and it didn't come with a horn switch at all. I took the wire for the hon activation ( a thin gray wire coming out of the steering column ) and wired it to one wire to a valet button for a alarm and the other wire off the valet button to ground. It does not matter whih wire you use for what on the valet switch. The horn wire just needs ground to activate. the valet button completes the circuit when pressed. Next i installed the button close to my shift **** for somewhat easy access. Not as convenient as having the horn where its supposed to go but good enough. I don't use my horn much but having it there is nice when someone is in front of you and they don't see the light turn green. I used to have to rev my motor to get them to go but that is rude as hell and draws too much attention. Soon I am gunna grab a horn out of a American made truck and swap the civic out with that so my horn doesn't sound so cheesy. People are definitely gunna take a second look when they hear that for the first time hehe.
