Default Idle problems d16y7 NO check engine light

So I put a newer OBD2 single cam into an older OBD1 EG. I have no check engine light but the car idles hella messed up especially when its cold. I'm sure you all know what i mean, seems like a vacume line is not connected but i've scoured everything and it's all hooked up. Sometimes it idles fine at 900rpm's after it warms up, however it will start fluctuating randomly from 900 up to about 1500rpm's. Real annoying...any ideas what it could be? Checked IAC valve and its fine. Thanks.

Try putting your finger over the holes on the inside of the throttle body when the car starts to act up. Top is IAC, bottom (if yours has it) is TICV.

What intake manifold did you use and throttle body did you use?

Sounds like a good old fashion vacuum problem.

Isolate the leaks and fix them. That ought to tame the idle a little bit.

Not the safest method, but spraying light mists of starting fluid or gas can help you find leaks if the idle raises in a certain area your spraying, you found your leak

your problem is you need to use a 92-95 manifold because the y7 manifold has a 3 wire iacv and the z6 is a 2 wire. or the other way around. this is what i was told by phearable.net when i asked them about making me an ecu to put a y7 in an obd1 car
