Where do I get the wrinkle paint?

My local Lowes didn't have it (used to be home depot), neither did a local hardware store in my town. That pisses me off. </TD></TR></TABLE>

they sell it at pep boys and kragen, but if you have to order throguh a place like summit the shipping will kill because they charge like $10 just for shipping and it takes a week because they cant ship aresol (sp?) paint by air. thats where i order my red from, i try not to order unlss im buying somthing else at the same time to save on shipping, oh well it just gives me a reason to buy more things for my car everytime i order paint.

i just found a shop that sells the red wrinkle paint but i have to buy a case of 6, so if anyone in southern cali wants a can i can get them for $6 each if you come get them, i dont think i can ship paint through the post office so mainly for guys down here in cerritos area.
if anyone wants some pm me.
its alot better than buying one can from summit for 15

I want to thank akumaracer for the advice!

I am currently doing mine as we speak. I decided not to shave my logos though. I got the paint and paint stripper at Advanced Auto, and I'm going back tomorrow to find some gunmetal or cast iron paint.

After 5 minutes of paint stripper, it started to bubble up and blister.

After 15 minutes of using the paint stripper, I then hozed it off with water.

I didn't want as much wrinkle, so I did 1 heavy base coat, then 2 light coats.

I used the chapstick trick to keep the paint from sticking to the logos. It's been about 12 hours, and some of the paint is still not dry. I dampened a paper towel with paint thinner to get the paint off of the 'Honda' and 'H' logo. I'll have a finished picture soon.

The chapstick method doesn't really work, it helps a bit though. Here's my product.

Im going to have to try this on something now.

Just a tip for those of you doing valve covers...

Make sure you make off all of the holes where the rubber washer things bolt the valve cover to the head. If that surface isn't smooth, you are going to get oil leaks there. Same obviously goes for the oil filler cap.

here's mine. anyone from clubsi will recognize the gokMetal. just sprayed over the stock valve cover with gunmetal paint so it would retain the factory krinkle finish.

I paint valve covers too, but I go thru more trouble. I file the letters, sand it, sandblast, primer, wetsand, basecoat, then 3 extra coats with non-krinkle paint, and I use a special technique to get the rough krinke effect. almost identical to factory.

I assume that's just your camera that makes them look pink.... otherwise, those are top-knotch. I really like the black wrinkle finish...
