How to remove overspray from windshield and windows?
recently picked up an EG hatch and someone decided to spray this silver glittery **** all over the black paintjob and didn't even bother to mask off anything. the windshield and windows all have this wannabe pearl all over it. is there any ways i can remove this without damaging the finish of the glass?

Well I do alot of detailing and the best thing I have found to remove paint overspray from glass and other parts of the car is by using a clay bar and it is pretty safe too. Well hope this helps. Jordan.

what our detailshop normally does on body shop clean-ups (from the dealership body shop) is claybar on the body and steel wool / straight razor blades on the glass (used with glass cleaner) steel wool is normally easier and safer, just spray glass cleaner on the window and scrub it with the steel wool

Get some Acetone from you local auto store. It is paint thinner it will wipe that over spray off like it is windex! Dont get it on your paint though. Its not that strong that it would be a big deal but your paint could do without it.

My vote as well. If you get it on your paint just get it off and it's no biggie.

Nail polish remover is essentially:

That is some strong stuff, eat through plastic/paint quicker than you can imagine.
A claybar will remove that no problem, it will be your best bet.

works very well. or you can use some strong ethyl for car paint. Just dont let it absorb into your skins, gets in the blood stream....... Not the best thing.

DO NOT USE a Scotch Brite green/yellow pad as SLowCrx recommended. Even though it's an old post, I picked it up in a 2022 search and used the advice. It put scratches all over my windshield! I ended up having to replace the windshield on my new car to the tune of $400! I checked with several detailers on this and they all said DO NOT use a Scotch Brite pad. Just hoping others don't try this like I did!
