Re: How to put X brakes on your 96-00 EK civic (revised) upgrade chart
I know this is an old thread, but can anyone still help me? I am gonna do a D16-B16swap and want to upgrade my brakes at the same time. I am not sure if i have an EX, DX, LS or anything else. Anyway, I want the biggest/best brakes that will fit my car. Please let me also know what type of Honda those brake parts are from.
Yes, I am gonna do a rear drum to disk brake swap.
Info about the car:
1997 EJ6 Civic coupe
Engine: D16y7
Glas sunroof
Trunk is being opened from the inside
Chassinr:1HGEJ61900L107781 (If it matter)
Electrical windows and sunroof.
Electrical rear mirrors
Originally a Pro-Tec Civic
Let me know if there is anything else you guys need to know about my car.

Dude! That was awesome thanks for the serious amount of knowledge, feel very confident with the info you provided to do the swap and not have it ducked up and getting the correct parts, thanks again

Awesome writeup!
By the way, does anyone know if there's a table anywhere, listing part numbers for brake pads/rotors for different calipers?
That's always pain in the *** searching for some, e.g. I've got 17CL15VN calipers, which I know come from Prelude IV 2.2 VTEC, so I'm likely going to buy Prelude rotors and redrill those to 4x100 for by EJ2.
Also heard about some Renault rotors with a bolt-on fit, but 262mm size, and some Mini Cooper, but too thin (22mm vs 25, I guess).
There are also some mythical MG rotors with bolt-on fit, which I can't find anywhere at all.

Really good write up a lot of information to go through. Almost too much.
I have a shot in the dark question.. Are 1993 del sol Si brake calipers (front & rear) compatible with a 1995 del sol Si?
My gut instinct says yes (based on a couple hours of research going through threads like this..). It's the difference between $250 is why I'm asking.

Yes.
Edit: You should probably show a picture of exactly what you are looking to buy. The listing could be for Del Sol VTEC parts, which are sometimes mis-listed as Del Sol Si. The VTEC trim had the larger 262mm front brakes while the Si maintained the 242mm fronts. Both trims had the same size rear discs and calipers.
