Re: How to put X brakes on your 96-00 EK civic (Redline96LX)
I looked into the ek rear drum abs to Si rear disc a bit on hondas parts.
both the bearings and lower arms have different part numbers which leads me to believe the ABS bearing may be connected differently and might need an ABS setup.

Re: How to put X brakes on your 96-00 EK civic (Vero)
Well I can tell ya by looking, the drum and disc hub don't look the same, I think the drum one has two more holes drilled in it for weight or something. But the lower control arm ought to be the same, that really should, the only difference is the Si has stiffer shocks, and maybe the bushings are a bit stiffer, but dimensionally, there the same. The hub though, the bushings and hub may be different, but the dimensions could be so close that there interchangable. I cannot confirm this, sorry.

Re: How to put X brakes on your 96-00 EK civic (Redline96LX)
I have a 1993 Si which from what I've researched should have 10.3inch rotors. I plan on upgrading to NSX or Legend calipers with the fast brakes 11in 4x100 so I dont have to redrill anything.
*Do I have to replace anything with the knuckle/hub/spindle to fit the NSX/Legend calipers since they are dual piston or should they just bolt up if I already have the 10.3" brake setup. Thanks

I'm not sure what there kit has, or what the offset of NSX or Legend GS rotors is. Also, neither is an 11.1" rotor.
What I suggest you do...is basically the ITR front brake setup. Whatever there kit has, I don't know. But Id use the 23T caliper bracket mount, that holds the brake pads in place. This goes over a 11.1" rotor redrilled to 4x100 which is basically a 96 Prelude VTEC rotor redrilled. This rotor is 23mm thick, opposed to the 28mm thickness of NSX/ GS rotors, but its plenty. Then with the 23T bracket nice and mounted with the kit, take off the ITR caliper and put the NSX or Legend GS twin piston caliper on that 23T bracket. So you'll have an ITR sized rotor, but 2-pot calipers. The caliper's throat is a bit wide so you may not want to run the pads down till their dead since the pistons will already be sticking out a bit more than usual.

well I was gonna just swap spindles, but after rounding 2 of the torx bolts off on the first one I am just going to swap the whole arm. it will be easier. (for the rears)
as for the fronts, just got my legend calipers today!
piece by piece.

whats the difference between a GSR and an ITR caliper? is it the pad size? i know both of them have the same piston size of 57mm.
im planning to use my stock 96-00 dx/lx front hubs to mount the GSR calipers over GSR rotors. will i have to shave 1/8" off the rear caliper bracket mount just like the itr one?

Re: (jdm951EK4)
Integra Type-R calipers and 94-01 Integra calipers are not the same, plain and simple. The piston is the same diameter, but the ITR ones are bigger, stiffer, and mount to the bracket at a wider point. The brackets are different, with different caliper slide bolts, and they take different pads. The ITR bracket is taller, thus why the DX knuckle can mount it and barely accept a 10.3" Civic EX rotor, but a GSR (94-01 Teg caliper) will not go on a DX knuckle, that would take...well a 9.9" front rotor, which isn't real in Honda land. If you find one with the 4x100 pattern, 56.1mm bore, and the right height, let me know.

Re: (GarageAlchemist)
i got legend calipers and brakets for 35 each from a 1992. so 100 for ITR calipers in really good condition, sounds like a fair transaction. (i believe they are the same caliper)

Thanks for the write up! Just wanted to check something real quick.
Can I use the 90-93 integra spindles/hubs with the EP3 caliper/rotor setup? This is for the rear of course.

When airbag club had the Integra/Civic calipers on the back, he was using the 10.2" rotor, but the smaller caliper. He used the big brake pad, tho the wearing wasnt great. What you can do with the setup I listed, is use the Civic/Integra caliper over the 10.2" rotor by using a 3EP bracket (from the RSX/EP3/ITR) but use the Integra/civic small brake pads. This acts like a big brake kit in the rear, not as good as using the ITR rear calipers, but theres no bleeding, and you only need bigger rotors and one part. </TD></TR></TABLE>
I only used the stock rear caliper in the beginning, until Mt3c showed me that you can just flip the rsx/ep caliper right to left. I then went out and bought RSX calipers and mounted those on. as for using the 3EP bracket with stock integra/civic small brake pads. That wouldn't work. That is what I originally tried doing, but it did not work out. there was too much slop, as the 3EP bracket goes deeper in, which means that the caliper spring would not be resting on the pad, but instead, resting on the rotor...

Re: (Redline96LX)
so, basically what you are saying is that on a 94-01 integra brake system (which i have), i can purchase a 97-01 itr caliper, caliper bracket, hub, rotors and it will bolt up to the normal integra knuckles? i would just have to purchase new rims(5lug).

What up witht hat chart.. No info on nsx rears...
easy as cake....
4x100 setup
94-00 intergra front rotor (yes for the rear)
rear trailing arm thats not drums
nsx pads
nsx rear calipers
nsx rear carrier redrilled....
did this setup on my old ef about 5 years ago.
