how much should it cost for a new input shaft bearing and for labor?
Well replaced my clutch and the problem is still there it's definetly the input shaft bearing looking at other forums with the same symtoms i have. It started out making just a whirrrrr sound when i would let out the clutch and stop when i pushed it back in. But now it's gotton worse by making a loud knocking noise coming from the tranny i believe it's the input shaft bearing. What i was wanting to know was about how much, if i take it to a local shop or even a dealer, should it cost to get this fixed?

The input shaft bearing itself is right around 20-25 dollars (been a couple months since I had to order one). Labor is going to murder you though. There's a how to on replacing it written by BauleyCivic if you're brave enough to tackle it yourself.

well i really don't wanna do it myself. I need to know how much the labor is going to cost just an estimate.

Do you mean take the car there and have them pull the tranny and fix the problem? The tranny has about 1 1/2 hours labor putting the bearing in if the tranny is already out. Figure another 4-6 depending on the shop to remove and install the tranny. So anywhere from 6-8 hours labor or around there. Shops hourly rate are anywhere from $40-110 per hour so do the math and see if it's worth it to you.
