Owners manual states that the B16A takes 4.2 quarts when you change the oil and filter.

I think it takes 5.1 quarts for an engine rebuild.

i jsut rebuilt my friend b16a2 and we used 4.75 quarts, its cause we rebuild the engine and there wasnt alot of oil inside. so im guessing 4 quarts if its not a rebuid b16 and 4.75 if the b16 has been rebuilt. just check your dip stick.

what K20 motor doesn't have i-vtec?

i mean...i thought all k20's had i-vtec (K20A[JDM ITR], K20A2[CTR,ITR,Type-S] K20A3[Si])

im really curious if there is one...and if so, what car does it go in?

Quite interesting then that my Honda Owner's Manual states to use 4.2 quarts with a filter change. Also interesting that the larger B-blocks take even more oil.

Does Honda know you are doing this?

Edit: damn you and your metric measurements! My mistake, sorry. You said 4 liters, not quarts.

if liter is the same capacity as quarts then your defenatly short changing some b-series motor from oil.

4.20 quarts = 3.97 liters, 4.00 liters = 4.23 quarts.

Guess they aren't.

I have always put 4.25 in my fiancee's B16A2 and it is always right on the money.

I've probably changed more oil than most people in this topic too seeing as how I've been at this shop for about 3 years now. I've seen my fair share of B16A oil changes.

If you don't know how to use the Caps Lock, I don't think you should be using a computer. Even my grandmother can use the Caps Lock. Ahaha.
