wasnt sure where to post this but i have a 93 ex with a b16 i am looking into getthing the lcon traction bars but the car is my daily driver. has anyone ran traction bars on a daily driver? pros, cons? just want to know if it affects the drivability of the car driven daily or if they are more for full race and weekend driven cars. thanks

More traction is going to give you many of the same pros and cons of stiffer suspension. Yes, you'll get more of a hole-shot, but you'll also be more intimately connected to the road and, as such, you'll feel every imperfection that much more.

yeah that makes sense what you said, i just usually see people running them on race cars, i usually dont see them on daily drivers and i wondered why when people have so many problems with traction, i was just wondering if there was a reason why they dont run them

Some of them require notching parts of the subframe or removing tow hooks, etc. Really, there aren't significant drawbacks to having them, assuming you can adjust them so they do some good .

i've heard that traction bars are hard on axles. is this true? or would this be due to someone not adjusting them properly?

I don't see how they are hard on axles, if anything they help them. I could see some problems with susion travel because it will want to pull and push the control arms as they go up and down.

BTW old school accords use those standard, they seem okay.

yeah that's pretty much the whole point of traction bars is to prevent suspension forward and back movement, therefore to prevent wheelhop.

and wheel hop = broken axles, and having to get a tow home is never fun

well wheel hop for me meant broken axle, and hole in bottom of tranny under the diff, and having to get towed home. which really sucked. thats why i'm trying to find a way to stop wheel hop and i'm hoping the traction bars will help,

the lcon traction bars are supposed to be completely bolt on traction bars

i am using a jimfab traction bar in my daily driver and it feels good...only when i hit a pothole it sounds nasty...but other than that it a nice stiff ride...just tryin to figure how to get the squeeking noise to dissapear from the rear!

well traction bars are mounted to the unibody, and suspension travels up and down. since the length of the traction bars stays the same it tends to pull/push suspension components. I got to draw it out to explaint it to you.

BTW do you have anything like good/solid engine mounts, is the car lowered at all with some good shocks/springs (big rate in the back).

i am going to buy hasport mounts, and the car is lowered a little but just with coilovers, not sure the brand they were on there when i got it, and i think the struts are aftermarket but i'm not sure on that either. what do you mean big rate in the back?

does regulating the suspension travel mess up the suspension any?

my friend has them on his 90 si and has had them on the car for a long time. the only drawbacks so far that I have noticed riding in his car is that they are kinda noisy at times.
