Default how to make my exhaust quieter

i just a axle-back exhaust and it is ridiculously loud. like so loud i cant hear the radio. it seriously gives me a headache. is there anything i can do make it quiter, besides putting on a bigger resonator. maybe just make it quiter INSIDE the car??

A muff shop can weld two resonator in your system. That should do it. Have I seen it done? Yes. A former co-worker got two resonator on his G1 Integra.

P.S. Don't spend $$$ using Dynamat and stuff. Take care of it at the source.

I saw something pretty cool at the arospeed website www.arospeed.com Exhaust Valve Controller:The Arospeed ECV - Exhaust Control Valve is
designed to allow the sound and flowof the
exhaust system to be toned down from inside
the vehicle at anytime. This system features
a cable controlled plate that can be adjusted
from fully open to fully closed (which allows
minimal air flow, without choking the engine)
via a switch that can be placed anywhere in the
front cabin of the vehicle. This unit is the perfect
solution for anyone who wants a tunable sound
from their exhaust system and it works with just
about any exhaust on the market today. Please call
for specific application fitments and additional
information on this innovative new product.
sounds like it pretty cool, wonder if it works with aftermarket cats, exhaust. check it out in the new products.

Get a silencer if it is available. If not, it time for a new exhaust.

Mano,

Do you really want to put a valve in your exhaust??? No. It will waste all the money that you spent on the cat-back to make your exhaust free flowing.

Resontator, add one in or do what I did. took the 18 inch one out and put a 24 inch resonator.

Bigger the resontator the quiter the exhaut. Less attention and less annoyance.

the apex N1 is pretty loud man....unless you have the silencer in place of course.....but if you want quiet...get the Apex-i world sport, the DC TCS exhaust, or the mugen twin loop, there are also generic twin loops out there too....and what do you mean isn't loud compared to axle back mufflers, just because its an axle back doesn't necessarily mean its loud....

I suggest custom piping with Super Turbo muffler, spray painted flat black. This setup has consistently "survived" several CHP close encounters. Potent enough to smoke Corvettes, even with a car lead.

nrg-racing.com has the apexi silencers for $44 shipped. go to the site and ask for a quote. best price around. i asked for my evo it's 115mm's and they do have the other smaller size. it's cheap and best

Putang-ina mo Pagong. Newbie?? I was driving my H22 hybrid on the streets of LA when you were still finger-banging your girlfriend in junior high. Just ask Gil of Place Racing, who did my swap back in the days when people were still wondering if this swap was possible. Just mention the red H22'd EG, the second one, if he doesn't remember.

Bad Tom I ain't ******* stupid, you are. If you were at the Glenoaks, CA street races 2 Saturdays ago, then you would have seen my Civic smoke that Corvette that every import there was scared to race. You call yourself a moderator??!! F*** you!!

The suggestion I submitted was viable - I run this setup. If you guys don't agree, then rebutt with valid arguments - or we can settle this for money at Glenoaks, anyday.

Gettin back to the subject, if you want to quiet your exhaust down you should get a resonator or two. I got 2 resonators on my hatch and there is a huge difference in sound.

Resonators are those larger diameter sections in the B pipe.

What you do is you cut out the exsisting one and then cut the exhaust to fit a larger one and weld it in.

A muffler shop will do this for about 40 dollars.
