Default DSERIES Questions

I already searched and couldn't find what I was looking for. I'm not sure if I search for the right thing. I'm building a D16y8 block with a D16z6 head. I'm planning on getting forged internals. And were wondering if that would cause a problem with valve clearences? And confused about what timing belt I should use?

1.) The design of the aftermarket forged internals should not cause any valve clearance issues. What are you planning to do that will require forged internals? If you aren't shooting for more than 200 whp, shot-peened stockers will do fine.

2.) Either timing belt. But, if you get an ajustable cam gear, get one for the head/cam combo you are putting on (in this case a Z6).

Ok thank you, I was just a bit confused about things. To answer your question I'm building the motor to handle about 280whp. And the reasons why I ask these questions. Is because I want to do it right the first time.
