Default How do I tell a single core from a dual core radiator?

This might sound silly but I just bought this radiator for $55 for a swap and was told its a dual core which is what I need, to me they both look the same - how can I tell that I have a dual core radiator?

look at the center core. a dual core will be almost as wide as the tanks are.

i should say, as thick as the tanks are.

The fins should be ~1" thick, front to back for a dual core. A single is obviously half that. I have an aftermarket ebay rad, its a single 1" core - technically a dual core by Honda cooling standards.

Oh I found out another way too to check it - if you look inside the radiator cap with a flashlight you should see TWO rows of those oval shaped fins - on a single core there is one row.

I actually found this after searching on HT (lol should have did that before but u know how most of us on here get paranoid and anxious when it comes to some stuff lol)

Well anyways I headed over to my buddy's since he got both an auto EG hatch and a Del Sol and sure enough I look in the hatch and see two rows of fins (Auto EG's come with dual core I heard), so I look in the Del Sol and sure enough its a single core with one row and yeah you guys are right it was thinner too.

So yeah I guess I do have a dual core radiator. Bought it for $55 shipped - not bad huh? Now I hope it does not leak lol...

Thanks Guys.

Oh yeah I posted this same question on the Hybrid forum also and I just saw that "Propulsion" posted the same thing about using a flashlight and looking down into the radiator.

I guess thats another good way to tell too.
