Default how do i identify ecu with no stickers

i got this ecu in my car that doesn't have any stickers. inside or out. i'm trying to fix everything on my car.

so i checked my ecu and no stickers just p72 in permanent marker .

i tried to find some pictures of athe inside of ecu's but didn't help.

How else can i identify my ecu ? i can show a pic of the inside if needed.

that picture will help us tell you if its obd1-2-2a-2c-2g
but that's about it.
if it says p72, why don't you believe it is?

go to hondatas page they have a lot of info there.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by http://www.hondata.com &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">All Honda ECUs have a part number which is located on the side of the
ECU and inside the ECU on the connector. e.g. 37820-P72-A01</TD></TR></TABLE>

I don't know where, but apparently it's also inside "on the connector" - I'm guessing that's where it plugs into the harness - check around there, inspect it thoroughly on the inside...hope that helps...

judging by the non-OEM chip on the board at the lower right corner and the jumper wire added at location J1, it looks to me like it is already chipped.

that would kinda explain why the stickers were removed... since it isn't that ECU anymore. also looks like it was originally an automatic ECU, but that was probably converted also when the ECU was chipped.

ok so i have a chipped ecu, and it was auto and converted to manual. is their any way to find out what company chip this is ? and is that auto to manual make a difference on the computer?

only way to really tell what is on the chip would be to put it in a chip reader. if the auto to manual conversion was done correctly, it won't affest the ECU at all. BTW, that conversion is pretty hard to screw up as long as you remove the correct resistors and insert the jumper at the right spot.

can you take a close-up picture of the row of 10 spots for resistors (will be labeled RP**) in the lower right hand corner of the board?

also, what engine are you trying to run with this ECU?

looks right to me

if it's a stock B16, just contact one of the MANY tuners on here (mtber, blundar, xenocron, etc., etc., etc.) and see if they'll burn you a B16 chip. should be decently cheap and all you do is pull the old chip straight out and insert the new chip (careful not to bend the probes)
