Default Hitting Rev Limiter 3500-4000 RPM...

Hi,

I am running a mini-me (d15b7) motor turbo set-up WITH internals...

What would be causing it to hit rev limiter at 3500-4000 RPM range? I have been told it is going into LIMP MODE...

I have checked all connections on all sensors...

Another question arised, would the Comptech E.S.M. I am running not be running correctly or anything?

By the way, NO CODES ARE BEING THROWN... (CEL does work, comes on on initial start up and goes off as normal)

What ECU are you running? Since your motor is "built", have you gotten it tuned yet?

Yes I have been currently tuning the motor such as getting the timing correct...fuel pressure, etc...

However this is the only problem I am currently running into...

Someone said something about my computer having to be UPGRADED b/c the computer will see boost...

I was told the "Comptech E.S.M." was suppose to over ride that problem?

By the way this is a 1995 Civic DX, the computer I am not for sure if it is ob1 or ob2...I will check when I get back home...

I'm not entirely sure, but I'll give it a shot.

Unless the Comptech ESM is custom chipped for your application for VTEC, boost, air/fuel parameters, etc...that could be the problem. If you just hooked up te ESM and expect it to work, I don't think it will.

The P06 DX ECU is a OBD-1 since it's pre-1996.

Don't quote me on this, other's might be able to chime in.

I do not have V-TEC... d15b7 SOHC NON-VTEC

Comptech ESM Instructions, they are preset for honda & acuras...

http://www.comptechusa.com/instructions/ins091.pdf

You have 4 wires, wired as follows:

red- MAPP POWER
black- MAPP SENSOR GROUND
blue- GOES TO MAPP SENSOR SIGNAL
green- GOES TO MAPP SENSOR SIGNAL TO ECU

It is suppose to be pre-set for hondas/acuras....

However the instructions also say if it was wired up wrong or anything it would throw a code...I AM CURRENTLY NOT GETTING ANY CELS...that is what isn't making any sense! Would it be possible for it to throw a code if I tested for a code even tho the CEL isn't on while driving

Another thing that may be helpful to know is that I AM running a MSD 6AL Box with 7000 pill...took out 7000 pill to see if it was mal-functioning from factory....still hitting rev limiter at 3500-4000 RPMs...

I have reset computer, disconnected battery...still same problem???? Something isn't right!

Let me ask you something. When you rev it up, and hit the rev limiter, does your speedo jump around?
