high idle?

high idle?
i painted my valve cover, and put NGK plugwires, on my JDM b16 swap, and since i did, my idle is staying up at around 2000, i have the idle adjust screw tightend all the way it can be...and ideas?

Put the idle screw back to normal for starters. Did you take off your intake or unplug anything when you did your valve cover? Is your throttle cable super tight? Are there any kinks in it?

yes everything is back...this isnt the first time ive taken the valve cover off lol...just looking for ideas, tha ti havnt used yet...
throttle cable is firm, not tight, car was running perfect before
has skunk2 intake manifold, hytech header, aem intake/filter,

Sounds like a vacuum line to me. I did something simular on a b18b I had a while ago. It ended up being a vacuum line I had overlooked during a swap.
Go look at your IM and inspect it for lose/missing vacuum lines.

well this is after driving around like all night...ive gotta put in a new axle tomorrow, so im gonna look over everything really good for about the 5th time i guess lol

when its warmed up its at like 1000.
ps: I have a 95 del sol vtec if that matters.. Also could it be the gas I use ? I use the lowest octane which is 87 here..

Yeah, its normal man. I really did think you were kidding. There is this little thing under your TB called a Fast Idle Thermo Valve, and thats what controls your idle during the warm up stage. If you want to adjust your idle after the car is warmed up, there is a screw on the top of your TB.

haha I just replied to your PM. 87 octane isn't very good. It burns much quicker then higher octanes and leaves your fuel system dirty, and produces more carbon build up. You'd be much better off buying decent gas as it will last longer, and prolong the life of your car.

really???so that means better MPG...i remember reading a thread about how the octane does give you better HP and that the gas burns at the same rate....can someone else besides 93eg2james clear this up me???

Yes, the B16A requires 89+ at a MINIMUM. If you ever rev the **** out of it, I'd stick with 91+ to be safe, as the compression is rather high and the timing aggressive enough to do damage at 9000rpm if you misshift

ok thanks will it also make my car run better ? it runs really good now but just wanted to know if I would see an improvement ? I have been using 87 octane for about 3 months now..
