few questions about hmotors (HELP!!)
so im getting pretty ancy and have been trying to find a good engine for a couple weeks now. sohc, and havent had much luck. theres a y8 for sale form a local shop for $400 but id have to buy the conversion harnesses and i think it has over 100k on it no tranny no dizzy i dont think or ecu.
i was thinking of buying a d15b off hmo and then trading my p28 for a p08 and maybe paying the additional $250 for the tranny since its all guarenteed low miles and i know they will warranty start up.
but its $550 + im guessing around $150ish to ship i tto oregon from ca. plus 250 for the tranny.
my question is should i do this? itl be about $800 total but itl be guarenteed low miles and i plan on driving my civic for a long time and staying sohc.
would my current eg dx tranny work in it?
and is this motor plug and play with obd1?
hmo says it comes with the following:
Motor
- Intake Manifold
- Exhaust Manifold
- Injectors
- Fuel Rail
- Throttle body
- Alternator
- Distributor
- 5 Speed Hydro Tranny (Add $250)
- P08 ECU (Add $125)
what else would i need to buy to have this running? i alrdy have new axles but not sure if harness is good to go or what?
need opinions asap as i really need to get my car back on the road

All I can tell you is that I've never heard anything but good things about Hmotors on this site. I know my cousin got a B20 from them and it was clean and legit. Ran strong and started right up. And your DX tranny would work but it would feel slow because of the long *** gears. If you have the cash just get the tranny for it, and if you have a little extra get it with the LSD.

Re: few questions about hmotors (HELP!!)
so from your post your original engine is a d16z6? 92-95 civic?
get the JDM D15B its a vtec engine use your p28.
yes your trans will bolt right up now is the time to replace that old stock clutch though.
get an exedy OEM replacement DO NOT buy an off the shelf clutch.
any other Q's feel free to PM me.

As far as the O2, I don't know enough to comment.
Unless I'm rusty on my honda knowledge(could be, haven't been around in about 3 years) the starter that you have now should work unless it's bad.
And it should be plug and play.
Here's my suggestion though. if you already have a P28 ecu that means you should have the z6 motor. That also means you already have the shorter geared tranny so there is NO need for you to buy the tranny with the motor. I'd buy the motor, use your trans, replace the clutch while it's not in your car, and if you want to do little stuff like a timing belt, headgasket, etc. do it all while it's out of the car. If not, drop it in and hope for the best. Also, while the motor is out, use it as a good time to clean your engine bay. when I did my swap I didn't do that and it annoyed the **** out of me.
Good luck.

Re: few questions about hmotors (HELP!!)
ok yes it comes with the clutch/flywheel (if you buy the motor/trans complete) yes it comes with a starter (again if you buy the motor/trans) as for the o2 i dont remember i think it does (atleast mine did B16a/S21 lsd trans) and yes it is plug and play their was only one cut wire on mine and it was the vtec pressure sensor (wich isnt hard to wire up)
and like i said earlier i will only deal with hmotors they have the best customer service iv ever delt with and shipping is fast for what your getting
