I had a similar problem in mine when i swaped my motor and tranny. When i was driving in fifth gear the tranny would just pop out of gear. I though I had a busted tranny but all it needed was some more tranny fluid because it was very low on oil and after I refilled it, it ran smooth from there on.

popping out of 5th is usually a sign of low fluid. If you keep running it like that it'll start to burn gears and eventually they'll start welding themselves to mainshaft.
