Default Shedding Light Upon 5th Gen. Subseal Part No. 72365-SR3-014

I just replaced my driver side window run channel as well as subseal to make a tighter seal as it was letting air through and also looked really disfigured. Anyway, the window run channel (part number 72275-SR0-A00) replacement went smoothly but I noticed that when I was putting on the subseal (part number 72365-SR3-014) there was a notch cut out from Honda. I have never seen a 5th gen. Civic with something there, so I don't know what Honda was thinking but this is not acceptable. I don't want a hole in my subseal that you can see from the outside of the car as plain as day when I ordered a new OEM subseal! My friend that works at Honda checked and saw that the part had a superceded part number but still says nothing about the notch. He is going to call Honda today or tomorrow and raise hell. I was wondering if anyone dealt with or noticed this and has some info. to provide.

And this thread is useless without some pictures, right?

This is other, normal side, with a non-replaced subseal.

Wait, what.. How come my car didn't have these to begin with?

And I am not believing this until one of you shows me the part number and where I can find it in the Majestic Honda parts catalog, for a 92-95 Civic.

I think it would be shown here if it existed. Honda needs to get their **** straight and make the correct subseal that is shown in the picture, without that little notch.

Any more relevant info in regards to why I can't find that part for the 92-95 Civic? I believe the subseal for this model should not have had that notch cut out.

Well, my EX which has all the options minus abs doesn`t have them either...If your that upset about it, than get some black silicone and fill it in..

Really? Should I really have to fix rubber with silicone when its a Honda OEM part?

This doesn't mean that it's gosphel truth or anything, but in my 14+years working with Hondas, and having owned (still own one) a few 92-95 Civics I've NEVER seen a guide button on a 92-95 Civic.

Exactly. Now why did Honda send out this part when I ordered 72365-SR3-014. Do you think I should try returning it in hopes that the next one won't have this hole?

The part probably fits another honda with the guides. If you return it and ask for another one, you will probably end up with the same one again..

Hmm.. it doesn't make sense that they wouldn't make a subseal without a notch to fit the 92-95 Civics since they never came with a window guide clip.

Looks like I am going to have to keep this retarded hole in my subseal. It looks ridiculous.

Any one looked into this? I am not too happy having to drive around with this little gap in my subseal.

Can someone confirm this part number will fit a 92-95 hatchback?

Dude, I know. I am still not over having this notch in one of my subseals. I would like to find out if I can get that window guide to work, although it will still look relatively ugly.
