Default HELP PLEASE! Battery light not coming on at all...car shuts off

i have a 98 civic ex with a gsr in it. Last night at the track my speedometer stopped working so just thought the speed sensor went out. Well it was all down hill after that, then my lights dimmed and gauge cluster stopped working. Then the car shut off. Look at all my fuses and find out the speed sensor and alt. fuse popped. Changed it out and fuse popped again. I get towed home check the wire harness and find out my o2 sensor wires were hanging on the header and melted the wires. changed the plug and reconnected everything. Now when i turn my key to the on position battery light doesnt come on at all, and car still shuts off after a minute (its draining the battery). Any input would be appreciated.

seems like you might've melted some wires together inside the harness. It could be causing them to short out. check the wires that are visible, including under the dash and by the ecu. Then take a multimeter and from the shock tower plugs, connect the black to ground and use the red to touch the pins, if you come across continuity from one of the pins that aren't supposed to be grounded, then thats the culprit. then check the pins against one another. if you get continuity (example: if you touch pins 1 and 3, get continuity and the wires to the pins are in no way related to each other) then there is your problem.
