HELP p1337 and p0505 cel codes
Hello need some help with this issue have a 2000 civic and it is running really poor scanned the cel code and p1337 p0505 came up so I went home disconnected the battarie took off the throttle body cleaned it all real good put it back on cel came back on scanned again same codes came up I at first before i scanned anything it feels and sounded like the car had been misfiring i did common test for misfires taking spark plug wire off one at a time but couldn't find any misfire, this is my sisters car so im trying to help her get it running good a again when you firs drive it for maybe 5 min it runs ok but after its warmed up it start to hesitate has a real bad loss of power not sure what else to check, and im wondering if the p1337 coded could cause the p0505 code to show up or the other way around.

Re: HELP p1337 and p0505 cel codes
Some background information seems missing.
Work done prior to throwing these codes and appearance of the problem? For example, timing belt replaced?
What Civic trim (EX, DX, CX, etc.)?
Did you clean the IACV when you removed the TB?
Never remove a spark plug wire with the engine running as it risks blowing the coil - expensive mistake.

sorry it is an ex model the timing belt was done about a year ago, my sister just had new spark plugs and cat put it in. and I did clean the iacv and rest the codes drove it again for a while still ran poor pulled codes and same thing came up I also have a 98 civic ex that i switched the tb out it ran a little better but still the same problem im going to try the iacv from my car on it now and see if it runs any better. I did not know that it could blow the coil I wont try that again.

Re: HELP p1337 and p0505 cel codes
ok so I now have put the TB and IACV from my 98 civic on to hers and the idle came down before it was around 1200 to 1500 RPMS and scan the codes and the p0505 code went off I got another code p0113 but I think its because I did forgot to plug one connector back on to the sensor on the intake. so im gonna reset it and check one more time. im thinking it might be a bad iacv.

Re: HELP p1337 and p0505 cel codes
The CKF sensor for code P1337 is located behind the lower timing belt cover. This code is usually thrown due a bad install of the timing belt where the CKF wires rub on the spinning timing belt and sever or short them.
P0505 is a separate problem. Describe the idle problem in detail. This will help pinpoint the issue.

Re: HELP p1337 and p0505 cel codes
so before I swapped the TB and IACV from car to hers it was staying around 1200 -1500 rpms, and when you put it in gear and try to go the car jerks around from 1200 rpms and up and feels like it has no power at all and it makes makes noise like its a missfire or maybe not getting fuel.

ok Im pretty sure I found the problem one is the iacv and the second was ignition timing after I changed the iacv i decided to check the ignition timing and it was way off so I ficed it and now its got the power back so im gonna put her tb back on and see if it still runs good then I will know for sure its the iacv, and if its not that then im gonna guess its the throttle position censor.

Re: HELP p1337 and p0505 cel codes
Start by checking whether the 3P connector is unplugged (forward and above the alternator). If not, troubleshoot the wires with multimeter.

You shouldn't GUESS anything, you should properly diagnose the problem. Honda is one of the best companies when it comes to diagnosis flow charts, and if followed correctly, you will find the source of the problem 99.9% of the time.
Go online and download the shop service manual for 96-00 Civics and all your questions will be answered. Good luck!!!
