Default Help!!!GSR swap into EK

OK guys, this is my first swap. I did a 97 GSR swap into my 99 Civic EX. I got the swap in and everything is in place as far as i know. I had to convert the dizzy plug to the bigger style, and i'm running an obd1 p72 ecu w/ a jumper harness.

Just tried to start it for the first time yesterday, and the engine turned over but would not start. I have a spark and i'm pretty sure the motor is getting fuel because i can smell the gas.

Ok new info!

Ok i cleaned all of the grounds again and tightened them down, changed the spark plugs around, and got it to fire up. It ran, but it didn't sound too great.

When it was idling it was revving up to about 1200 and fallin down to 900 most of the time. I ran it for about a half hour in the garage, and took it for a test drive up to mcdonalds and back, the car ran alright. But on the way home it started stalling out when i would shift into third, and i would just do a rolling start to get it to run again. It sounded like a belt was slipping or sticking or maybe a pulley locked up on it momentarily.

I then decided i should put gas in the car as it was on E, and maybe that would make it run a little better, especially if i put premium instead of regular in it. But on the way to the gas station it stalled out, again sounding like a belt slipped or stuck or pulley locked up or something.

And now it WONT START! It turned over momentarily, but it basically stopped turning over, like it tries but just cant turn over.

It still sounds like one of the belts are stuck, i took the power steering belt off of it, still wont start.

Here's the best I can do for firing order. It's as if you were standing on the passenger side of the car looking at the dizzy.

This is the 3 4 this is the
fire wall 1 2 front side
side of the car.

What did you do for the wiring, is the secondary buterfly open? Double check all of your gounds, make sure they are tight and have clean contact.

for my wiring i have an obd2 to obd1 conversion harness and an obd1 ecu, and i color matched thewires on my bigger dizzy with my existing dizzy wires, there was an extra wire but it is for the tach is what i've read. I also have an S2 intake manifold so i don't think i'd have to worry about the 2nd butterfly issue.

I second this. I tried to ground from the rad support to the valve cover when I swapped my car, but couldn't get it to fire until I moved the ground to the PSP bracket.

Check them all though, perhaps even lightly sand the contact points, then coat with dialectric grease.

doesnt make a difference if you have the secondary butterfly sensor for the manifold connected or not. but you are right about grounds.. check head ground, tranny ground, and thermostat ground.

trust me on this. You can unplug the IAB sensor if you want and it will still run and it wont even give you a check engine light.

oil pressure light? did you hook up the oil pressure plug on the back of the block? well could just be your battery. or firing order is wrong

Your computer might not be wired up correctly, Sure you might be able to get spark, but if one of the sensors is not connected it might not even start.
