Default Has Anyone Painted Their OEM Side Skirts? EG Hatch

has anyone painted the black oem part of the side skirt on the eg? you know how oem side are black plastic? if you have picture that would be great too. there was someone on here liam? that seems to have it done i think but im not 100% if that oem painted or a aftermarket side. thank you

yes, you can paint the OEM sideskirts. take it to a professional body shop, they may include things such as a flex additive, and/or a different clearcoat.

make sure u rough up the surface to be painted on with like 400 grit sandpaper

my brother runs a body shop, he did mine. he cleaned them with this stuff called "tsp", then he went over them with a scotchbrite pad and "scuff stuff" then "bulldog" plastic primer, then eurathane primer with flex addatives, then base and clear. had mine about 5 years now, no chips or peeling anywhere. hope this helps. ^^^^ whit hatch is sick.

what jspecsir said is correct. you defiantly dont want to sand raw plastic with 400 like the other guy was saying.

I guess to each their own but it look way better then stock black....I don't know if you have seen the stock black side but it looks like your side skirt is missing and the door end right at the skirt. Thumbs up to the color matching. Thumb down to stock black plastic,
