Hard steering.
When I first got the car, it had no power steering, so I just let it be since it's not too bad since it's such a light car. But, my issue now is that it's got significantly stiffer. When I was dropping the car today, I noticed that my rack boots are almost gone. Just about, & it looks like no lubrication in there anymore. Help please? 93 Civic Hatch CX.

Re: Hard steering.
Turn steering wheel hard right. The left end of the rack will stick out. Clean with solvent and apply a general purpose grease. Do the same on the other side. Also inspect for damage the sliding part of the rack and the teeth. Grease them well and install new boots. Remove rack guide screw, clean and stuff it with grease. Readjust the rack guide so that it is not too tight and not too loose. Search for a"how to" on adjusting the rack guide. Also check your ball joints while you're in there. Is there a binding feeling (un-even resistance) when you turn the wheel lock 2 lock?
