Default hand brake question ???

okay heres my problem , i just converted my honda hb cx with rear disc that came off a 94 honda hb si. so every thing came off and was bolted in to place. now i ran the hand brake cable in the same way the drums where in place now when i was installing the hand brake bolts i noticed that the cable on the left side came out more then the one on the right side. so i installed it any way and now my hand brake don't work. i lifted the car up and told my buddy to pull the hand brake and the cables don't even move or any thing. so what did i do wrong here? are the cables the wrong size? do i need different ones? i thought that if it came off a hatch it should have worked?

Your handbrake cable is the one that has always been on the car, correct?

I know the pics are broken, but it may be of some help

you need shorted ebrake cables. when i did this swap on my crx, the ones of a 94 integra worked but were a little long for comfort. i dont know off hand what ebrake cables you want. what year is your honda that you did the conversion on? i think 92-95's need to use the si coup. but i am not for sure. check the faq.

If the cable is loose, inside the car, behind the E-brake assembly theres a tension adjuster for the cable, have you given that a look yet?

no i didn't give that a look . is that tension adjuster easy to adjust. . also i thought that if it came off a si hatch and its going on to a cx hatch that it wouldnt matter of the cable length becausa its a hatch and it came off a hatch. but i'll see about the tensioner in back of the brake.

Just a standard 10 or 12 mm socket or wrench. I forgot which size exactly.

NO you do not need different cables the ones off the si hb will fit so will the ones off the 94 integra same part numbers for both cables. You do need to adjust the cable. jack up the rear of the car put it on jack stands. take out the center console you will see the adjuster nut for the rear brake cables. pull the ebrake up one click. adjust the ebake cables so the is just a little drag on the rear wheel when you spin it. repeat for the other side. More then likely you will find a seized ebrake cable and or slide pins on the rear calipers. Let me know if you need more info
