yes i am quoting myself and i realized that what i said may be confusing, you already replaced the wheel bearing what i meant was the new wheel bearing could be junk...i've seen it happen and i've had it happen at work before.

Nice of you to pay attention. You're at strike two today on my list.
To the OP - check your suspension bushings. It's possible that the grinding you hear is coming from metal-to-metal contact when the suspension articulates because a bushing is worn or missing. Wouldn't be the first time this happened to me.

Re: (forcefedferio)
try jacking car up, pull wheel and turn hub slowly to see if you can feel the point of rub. If the tire is too wide you should see rub marks on interior of wheel well. Look for rub marks on the spindle that the wheel bearing assembly slid onto. Look for shavings everywhere around that side of the backend. Look for areas where parts are coming into contact with each ofther. Like clean metal where all around it is dirty metal.

Re: (Daveys_pal)
hello,
i jacked up can and took off wheel and it seems that the drum is grinding on the back plate or or something inside the drum there.
and it only seem to be grinding in one spot then spins free to the same spot again
the hub spins freely with no rubbing?
could trailing arm bushing be the cause?
thankyou all for your input

Re: (Infested_9mm)
The trailing arm bushing on our 97 4dr Civ drivers side was so cracked out is was easy to see with the tire off. The symptom there was clunking noise when we went over bumps. The trailing arm bushing had so much slop and movement that it made the lower control arm to strut connection bushing go out also. Very noticable clunks when going over railroad tracks and washboarded roads. In my opinion your descriptions make it sound like something rubbing.
This may be a bone headed idea. When we took off the brake drum, brakes, and then the backing plate the bolts for the backing plate were different length I think. Did those go back in the right holes? Is the place where the parking brake cable goes through the lowere control arm rubbing with the grommet not seated good? Are there metal filings / shavings insied your brake drum? If it is rubbing you should be able to find where the two pieces are toughing each other.

Re: (speed_demon)
thankyou
when i took it all apart the four times i never took off the backing plate so i dont think the bolt are wrong so i think it may be bent.
is it ok to just bend it back if it is bent or should i get a new one ?
thanks again
