getting a sunroof a possibility?
a nice ricer shop opened up by me in berlin. i inquired about getting a sunroof and they said $500. after i researched people said that most of the time aftermarket roofs get leaks so i dropped the idea.
now im thinking again... if i buy an ex sun roof and get it installed...
will that give me less chance of a problem? i guess it's a question of the roof being bad vs the whole being miscut or sealed improperly.
i want one bad
not bad enough to get another car though
the idea scares me, what does anyone else think?

Getting a sunroof is not a possibility unless it's aftermarket. Your only other option is cutting out your entire roof and replacing it with an EX/Si roof.
Just sell your car and get an EX/Si.

i had an aftermarket sunroof with no problems
but you don't even need a sunroof man just roll down your window
put $500 into something better

That is what the inside of an EX coupe roof skin and moonroof track looks like. Hope this lets you see why you can't just bolt one of these on. You need the entire roof from an EX sedan, and you'll need to cut off your stock roof at the pillars, and weld the new one on. That is the only way to properly install a factory moonroof.

Don't flame people who have an honest and sincere question. If someone posts "oh my grod, I wanzt vietfetech. Howrz re I gettign what hed u need 4 vetiech.?" then go ahead and laugh.
But this guy had an actual question, and he wanted an actual answer.

Re: getting a sunroof a possibility? (dafuzzbudd)
if you decide to do a sunroof your best bet is going oem which will require the following:
1992-95 ex sedan roof skin(exterior)
1992-95 ex sedan interior roof lining with sliding moonroof lid
1992-95 ex sunroof assembly
lots of wiring...
good luck

That looks like way too much work for a moonroof. I have an EJ1 and i never use my moonroof. Its just another thing that can go wrong in your car. The motor in mine is going out and the roof is out of alignment so when i drive i think the roof is caving in.

nice work on the roof... but definitely too much work. I made the mistake of purchasing a moon roof for my ek without knowing how much work was need to retrofit... now the moon roof is just sitting in the garage, taking up space.

The headliner or roof skin (as you call it) is dirty since the picture was made when the roof was being assembled. It was cleaned threreafter.

The maplight is a standard feature on JDM hatch w/ sunroof.

Re: getting a sunroof a possibility? (jjrek9)
yeah, I'm probably going to do the same thing here in the next few months. I just picked up a sunroof assembly with all the wiring. I got a lead on a headliner. So all I need is a roof skin. I'll probably buy that new.
