Gas Pedal problem too much travel
Hey guys i have a little problem with my gas pedal.
I have a 1993 Del Sol S. I am in the process of putting cruise control in it, i got everything from me 1997 Del Sol (pedal assembly, wiring, brain unit, actuators etc.) anyways, I just took the pedal assembly out of the 93 and installed the assembly with cruise control in it.
Now the problem is: my throttle cable seems loose. If i press the gas pedal, there is some pedal travel before the cable tightens up and open the TB. The pedal also sits a little higher then where it's supposed to like when i go from my brake pedal to my gas pedal i actually have to lift my leg up to get to the gas pedal. Usuall my heel can stay on the floor and i can control the brake and gas pedal from there
To make it easier to take the (non-Cruise control) pedal assembly out of the car, I disconnected the throttle cable from the TB, then when i went to out it back on, I ofcourse connected the throttle cable to the gas pedal, then went to connect it to the TB. when i went to pull on the cable to attatch it back onto the TB it felt like something snapped and it was loose ever since and was easy to put back on the TB. I dont think the throttle cable broke cus obviously its still working when i hit the gas, it is just loose.
I was just wondering if there is a way to set the pedal travel so that the throttle cable is a little tighter.
im sorry for the sorta long post, or if i didnt explain properly.
Thank You
Carlos
