fuel pump won't prime randomly, once started no problems
I have a strange problem. (92 Civic) Sometimes when starting the fuel pump won't prime, therefore not start. Resetting the ecu has worked a few times. Today I inspected the Main relay and put it back in, looked fine. Tried like 10 times, still no prime. Then all the sudden its priming. This problem occurs every few weeks. Anyone help?

check the pins on the ecu and on the mfr. Also check the harness that it plugs into. If that fails check the wire to the fuel pump. Also check the fuse for the fuel pump. Even thou they look good they can be bad. Check the fuses scoket for corrision and make sure its tight

yeah man, i had a 89 crx and ocassionally at random times did I have the same problem you had, if you turn the ignition and none of your lights on your cluster light up, and you cannot hear your fuel pump once you place the car in the run position, then its prolly the main relay..........when the main relays start to go bad, you can inconsistantly start the vehicle on certain days. eventually the main relay will totally give out and you wont be able to start it at all........that's the best advice i could give you man, same thing happened to one of my other cars.........later!!!
