Default Fuel Pump randomly shutting off?

My fuel pump randomly shuts off, sometimes at idle, sometimes when I'm driving it. Usually if I wait for a little while, or get it towed, it will start up again. I've had it towed 4 times in the past 2 and a half weeks, and every time it gets off the truck it starts up great! I can hear a clicking sound coming from near the fuse box inside. The clicks correspond with the fuel pump turning on and off, it clicks and goes on and off quickly for a full second or so and then completely shuts off. I was told it could me the fuel pump relay, but I can't find a specific 'fuel pump relay' and was told that any of the relays could be related to the fuel pump. I replaced the main relay and it didn't fix the problem. Could it be a short in the fuel pump wiring or something? Is there a way to completely bypass all the relays or current wiring and just install a hidden on/off switch for my fuel pump? Could the temperature outside have anything to do with it?

I'm already replaced the main relay, and it still does the same thing. I had it in to a Honda dealership and it never stalled out on them, they had it for a week and a couple days. Not sure why I'm the only one it stalls out on, I baby the car. This is it's 2nd winter on the roads, not sure if it likes it.

The fuel pump in my trans am would go out and come back on just like that. Then it went completely out, so it could just be a sign of the fuel pump going bad.

Check the ground to the left of the drivers side seat, under the carpet. My car was just having a similar problem and that ground had a bad connection. As soon as i tightened it up my pump turned on right away and hasn't given me any problems since. BTW, my car is a 94 hatch. Not sure if del sol's are setup the same.

The first thing I thought of was the fuel pump, but I got a Walbro. Myself and all my friends thought it was crazy that a Walbro went bad, but I swapped it out with a friends Walbro and the same thing happened. I'll check the ground tomorrow, my car is stuck at work right now.

Like SAL said, check that ground going to the main relay. (black wire)

Disconnect the connecter to the main relay.
Use a ohmmeter to verify continuity from body ground to the black wire.(pin 2)

You should have 12v at pin 1, (yel/wht), all the time.

You should have 12v at pin 5,(blk/yel), when the ignition switch is on.

Try your friends ECU.

Intermittent problems are the worst.
